CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Last updated on April 01, 2025
This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the terms applicable to cancelling reservations made through the Tranity Platform (the "Services"). This policy is part of, and should be read in conjunction with, our main Terms of Service and Payments Terms of Service. All capitalized terms used but not defined herein shall have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.
1. OVERVIEW
1.1. Tranity provides a platform connecting Members seeking to reserve Spaces/units (like seats or desks) with Partners offering them. The cancellation terms for a specific reservation are primarily determined by the policy selected by the Partner for their listing, which is displayed to the Member before confirming a reservation.
1.2. This policy explains how Member cancellations, Partner cancellations, and certain reservation issues are handled regarding refunds. It also defines the standard cancellation policy options Partners may select for monthly reservations.
2. MEMBER CANCELLATIONS
2.1. How to Cancel: Members can cancel a confirmed monthly reservation through the Tranity app by accessing their reservation details and following the cancellation prompts.
2.2. Cancellation Policy Options: Listed Spaces choose one of the following three standard cancellation policy levels. The specific policy applicable to your reservation is displayed on the listing page before you reserve. Please review it carefully.
Strict Policy:
Trial Period: No trial period applies.
Refund for Ongoing Month: No refund for the current, ongoing month if cancelled after the reservation has started.
Refund for Remaining Months: Full refund for any remaining full, uncommenced months.
Moderate Policy:
Trial Period: No trial period applies.
Refund for Current Month:
Partial Refund: 50% refund if cancelled within two weeks (14 days).
No Refund: No refund if cancelled after two weeks (14 days).
Refund for Remaining Months: Full refund for any remaining full, uncommenced months.
Flexible Policy:
Trial Period: A trial period of 24-hours applies. Full refund if cancelled within 24 hours.
Refund for Current Month (After Trial): If cancelled after the trial period in the first month, or in any subsequent months:
Partial Refund: 50% refund if cancelled within two weeks (14 days).
No Refund: No refund if cancelled after two weeks (14 days).
Refund for Remaining Months: Full refund for any remaining full, uncommenced months.
2.3. Refund Amount Calculation & Deductions:
Listing Fee: Any refund of the Listing Fee will be calculated and processed according to the specific cancellation policy (Strict, Moderate, or Flexible, as defined above) applicable to the reservation.
Tranity Service Fee: The Tranity Service Fee paid by the Member is non-refundable for Member-initiated cancellations.
Other Deductions: Any additional non-refundable charges explicitly specified by the Partner in their listing description (e.g., specific material fees, if applicable and clearly stated upfront).
Note: Cancellations are effective immediately upon confirmation through the Platform. The eligibility for a refund and the calculation are determined based on the time of cancellation relative to the reservation start date/time and the applicable cancellation policy.
3. PARTNER CANCELLATIONS
3.1. Partner Obligation: Partners must honor all confirmed Reservations and strive to avoid cancellations, as these disrupt Members' plans and affect platform trust.
3.2. Member Refund: If a Partner cancels a confirmed reservation, the Member will receive a full refund of the Total Fees paid for that reservation, including the Tranity Service Fee. Tranity Payments will process this refund automatically (see Section 6). No other charges will be deducted from the Member's refund in this case.
3.3. Impact on Partner Payout: Partner-initiated cancellations of confirmed reservations without a "Valid Reason" (as defined in the Payments Terms of Service, Section 4.5) will result in the Partner receiving no Payout for the cancelled period. Furthermore, such cancellations may incur "Partner Cancellation Charges" and other penalties as detailed in the Payments Terms of Service (Section 4.5), which Partners are responsible for reviewing.
4. RESERVATION ISSUES (POST-RESERVATION START)
4.1. Definition: A "Reservation Issue" may occur if, upon arrival or during the reservation period, the Member finds the reserved Space/unit is:
Significantly different from the listing description (e.g., missing key amenities, wrong location, substantially different size/layout than depicted for the specific unit reserved).
Unavailable or inaccessible to the Member.
Unsafe or poses a health hazard.
4.2. Reporting: Members must notify Tranity support (www.tranity.in/support) promptly and within a reasonable timeframe (ideally within the first 24 hours of the reservation start time or discovery of the issue) and provide evidence (e.g., photos, videos, detailed description) of the Reservation Issue.
4.3. Resolution: Tranity will investigate the reported issue based on the evidence provided by both the Member and the Partner. At our sole discretion, based on the severity and validity of the Reservation Issue, Tranity may:
Determine no issue exists or the issue doesn't qualify under this policy.
Mediate between the Member and Partner to find a mutually agreeable solution.
Assist the Member in finding an alternative Space (subject to availability and potential cost differences).
Issue a full or partial refund of the Total Fees to the Member.
Impose consequences on the Partner as per the Terms of Service.
5. RESERVATION EXTENSIONS
5.1. Process: Extensions are subject to Unit availability, Partner approval, and prevailing rates at the time of extension confirmation.
5.2. Policy Application: Trial Periods do not apply to extended Reservation Months. The cancellation policy (Strict, Moderate, or Flexible) active for the listing at the time the extension is requested and confirmed by the Member will govern the cancellation of the extended period(s). Members should review these terms before extending.
6. REFUND PROCESSING
6.1. Initiation: Once a refund is determined to be due under this policy (or the Major Disruptive Events Policy) following a Member cancellation meeting eligibility criteria according to the Partner's policy, a Partner-initiated cancellation, or Tranity's verification of a Reservation Issue, the refund process will be initiated automatically by Tranity Payments.
6.2. Method: Refunds will typically be processed back to the original Payment Method used for the reservation.
6.3. Timing: The time taken for the refund to reflect in the Member's account depends on the original payment mode and processing times by banks or payment providers. Once initiated by Tranity, estimated timelines are:
Credit / Debit Cards: 5-10 business days
Net-banking: 2-10 business days
Wallet: 0-3 business days
UPI: 2-7 business days
Please note: These timelines are estimates and actual processing may vary due to bank or payment system delays.
6.4. Tracking: You may be able to track the status of your refund within the Tranity app or via notifications from your bank/payment provider. If you do not receive your refund within the expected timeframe, please contact customer support (www.tranity.in/support).
6.5. Corresponding Partner Payout Adjustment: Refunds issued to Members under this policy (or the Major Disruptive Events Policy) will result in corresponding adjustments to the Partner's Payout for the affected reservation, in accordance with the Payments Terms of Service.
7. CHANGES TO THIS CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time in accordance with the modification clause in our main Terms of Service, effective upon posting of an updated version of this Policy on the Platform. You are responsible for regularly reviewing this Policy to ensure that you are aware of any changes. Continued use of the Platform after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.
8. GOVERNING LAW
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Policy shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
